Two Chemical Safety Board Nominees Receive Senate Confirmation

The U.S. Senate by voice vote late Thursday confirmed Sylvia Johnson and Steve Owens to serve five-year terms as members of the U.S. Chemical Safety and Hazard Investigation Board.

The investigatory body is currently led by a single board member, the current chair and Trump appointee, Katherine Lemos.

President Joe Biden in April nominated Johnson, Owens, and Jennifer Sass to fill three of the agency’s four open seats.
