For a second time, the Trump administration’s nominee to lead OSHA, Scott Mugno, is closer to getting Senate approval.
The Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions favorably recommended Jan. 18 Mugno’s confirmation by the full Senate. A date for a Senate vote hasn’t been set. The committee decision was a voice vote with no individual votes recorded.
In December, the committee approved Mugno by a 12-11 party line vote, but the committee had to cast ballots a second time because the Dec. 13 approval wasn’t carried over into the new year.
