Philadelphia Refinery Faces Fines for Faulty Chemical Storage

Philadelphia Energy Solutions is accused of violating hazardous chemical storage rules and faces $132,600 in OSHA fines related to a fire and explosion at its Girard Point Refinery in June 2019.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration issued a nine-item serious citation and fine related to process safety management, a regulation that requires companies holding large quantities of hazardous chemicals to identify and address potential hazards.
