OSHA Sues Trucking Company to Enforce
Order on Back Pay, Fees for Fired Drivers

A safety whistleblower complaint by two truck drivers landed in federal court as the Labor Department sought an order forcing the drivers’ employer to pay them $612,205 for back wages and legal fees, the department announced Nov. 14 (Dep’t of Labor v. Star Air Inc.).

The department filed the civil lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio.

The two drivers, James Minne and Robert Privott, claimed that their employer, Star Air Inc., fired them for refusing to continue driving their trucks after safety violations were found.
