OSHA Must Boost Employers’ Disease Reporting, DOL Watchdog Says

OSHA Covid-19 enforcement efforts were hampered, in part, because the agency didn’t require employers to report all infections regardless of the source, a US Department of Labor watchdog said Wednesday.

“It is important for all employees in all industries to be aware of worksite infections,” the DOL inspector general said in a new report. “Without knowledge of infections at the worksite, employees are unable to take measures to decrease their risk of contracting the virus and spreading it to their family and communities.”
