Ontario Contractor Fined $305K for Fatal Crane Incident

An Ontario construction company and two employees have been fined a total of C$391,250 ($305,253) for safety violations after a crane that was known to be unsafe tipped over and crushed a worker.

The Ontario Court of Justice levied the fines after 1428508 Ontario Ltd., doing business as Forma-Con Construction, and its employees pleaded guilty to the April 2015 incident that left the worker dead, the Ontario Ministry of Labour said Nov. 27.
