One-Member Commission Will Spawn Backlog of Worker Safety Cases

Unless the Trump administration acts before April 27, the system in which employers challenge safety and health citations will slow, but not necessarily halt, attorneys and observers tell Bloomberg BNA.

By late April, Chairman Heather L. MacDougall’s term on the Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission will end, leaving only one member on the three-seat body. MacDougall’s reappointment or appointing another nominee requires Senate approval.
