Lack of Fall Protection at Two Job Sites
Leads to $294,000 Fine for Gleason Roofing

Federal safety authorities have proposed nearly $300,000 in fines against a Connecticut roofing contractor after it allegedly exposed employees at two work sites to potentially fatal falls, the Labor Department’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration announced Sept. 10.

OSHA said it cited Gleason Roofing Co. of Enfield, Conn., for four alleged willful violations and two alleged serious violations of safety standards, with a total of $294,000 in proposed fines, for deliberately and repeatedly failing to use legally required fall protection.
