House Next Stop for Worker Safety Spending Bill

The decision on spending for federal programs protecting worker safety for next year is now in the hands of House lawmakers, following the Senate’s 93-7 approval of an appropriation bill (H.R. 6157) Sept. 18.

The House next meets Sept. 25, giving lawmakers less than a week to pass the bill and forward it to President Donald Trump for his signature before the fiscal 2018 budget year ends Sept. 30. House leaders already agreed to the bill’s provision, signing off with their Senate counterparts on the compromise proposal during a Sept. 13 joint meeting.
