Five Major Worker-Safety Policies Face Shakeup in 2018

Many of the worker-safety rules adopted toward the end of the Obama administration are now embroiled in President Donald Trump’s push for deregulation.

We highlight five of those policies that are under scrutiny by the White House, courts, and affected industries. The policies span three agencies and provide a breadth of protections for workers, ranging from limiting respirable dust to inspecting mines before work can begin. All come with costs to industry, however, which has driven the Trump administration to reconsider, revise, or even delete them.
