Fired Safety Director Focus of OSHA Whistle-Blower Lawsuit

A construction company safety director, allegedly fired for raising compliance concerns with his employer and meeting with an OSHA inspector, is the focus of a federal whistle-blower lawsuit filed Dec. 28 by the Department of Labor (Perez v. Jasper Roofing Contractors, M.D. Fla., 16-3508, 12/28/16).

The lawsuit seeks an unspecified amount of back pay and damages compensation from Jasper Roofing Contractors Inc., headquartered in Kennesaw, Ga., and the company’s owner and chief executive officer, Brian Wedding.
