Federal Safety Panel to Regain Quorum with Senate Confirmations

Trump nominees Amanda Wood Laihow and Cynthia L. Attwood Jan. 9 were confirmed by voice vote in the full Senate to the three-member Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission, presumptively ending a months-long lack of quorum on the federal panel.

OSHRC weighs in on disputes between regulators and companies on citations issued by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, and the appropriateness of civil penalties assessed for health and safety violations.

Companies filed 1,010 new cases to OSHRC between July and December 2019.
