Federal Court Orders Florida Roofing Company to Pay $1.5M Fine

A panel of federal appeals judges ordered a Jacksonville, Fla., construction company to cough up more than $1.5 million in fines and penalties—and it has 10 days to pay.

Judges Gerald Bard Tjoflat, Stanley Marcus, and Beverly B. Martin for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit granted a motion for summary judgment and order June 5 against Great White Construction Inc.

The company was fined more than $1.5 million after Occupational Safety and Health Administration officials conducted several inspections at its two St. Augustine work sites in February 2017. The citations were issued Aug. ...
