Dollar Tree Fined Nearly $460,000 for Egress, Storage Hazards

Dollar Tree Inc. faces a $458,436 OSHA fine for repeatedly blocking exit routes and electrical panels at its Falmouth, Mass., store, according to the federal safety agency.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration issued Dollar Tree four repeat citations after an April 8 inspection.

An inspector’s report said boxes and merchandise completely covered the exit route from a walk-in cooler and freezer, and merchandise was stacked above head height throughout the store, including near the store bathroom’s toilet and sink, exposing workers and customers to falling hazards.
