Countertop Factory Cited for Silica Dust, Amputation Hazards

A Georgia countertop manufacturer faces federal citations after allegedly failing to protect workers from silica dust and amputation hazards.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration cited Atlanta Kitchen LLC, based in Decatur, Ga., for 14 serious violations and proposed fines of $132,604, the federal agency said in an Aug. 9 press release.
