Coronavirus Guidance for Childcare Centers Issued by California

Protecting children and childcare workers from the coronavirus is the focus of new guidance from California workplace safety regulators.

While the measures cover some specific requirements for California employers, the general principles apply anywhere.

Among the key recommendations are establishing a system to check with parents and guardians daily on the status of children when they’re dropped off at the childcare center, frequent washing of toys and hands, and teaching children what they can do to avoid infections.
