Construction Firm Seeks Damages From OSHA for Mistaken Citation

A Wisconsin company mistakenly cited by OSHA is now seeking damages in federal district court from the safety agency, claiming it lost customers after the agency publicized the alleged safety violations and didn’t promptly drop the citations.

A&A Environmental Services Inc. of Poynette, Wis., says the Occupational Safety and Health Administration had meant to cite a firm with a similar name, A&A Environmental Inc., also located in Poynette.

The lawsuit filed Aug. 31 in the U.S. District Court for Western District of Wisconsin seeks unspecified monetary damages from the agency.
