The owner of a Boston-area construction company received a two-year prison sentence Dec. 5, following his conviction for the 2016 deaths of workers caught in a trench collapse.

Kevin Otto, 45, and the company he owns, Atlantic Drain Services Inc. in Bellingham, Mass., were found guilty on Oct. 31 of two manslaughter charges after a trial in Suffolk Superior Court.

The federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration also investigated the deaths and in 2017 proposed fines totaling $1.48 million.
