Cal/OSHA District Manager Arrested for Allegedly Taking Bribes

A district manager for California’s Division of Occupational Safety and Health was arrested and charged with taking bribes from a construction company in exchange for reduced penalties, Attorney General Xavier Becerra (D) said June 22.

Richard Fazlollahi, an employee at Cal/OSHA in Orange County, is accused of requesting and agreeing to receive a bribe in the form of construction services to his personal residence to reduce the construction company’s fines for workplace safety violations. The company ultimately informed the authorities, resulting in the investigation, according to the government.
