Builders, Shipyards Face Revised Toxic Beryllium Exposure Rules

The tangled process of protecting workers from toxic beryllium dust took another turn Oct. 7 when OSHA issued a new set of proposed changes to rules for construction and shipbuilding.

The latest potential revisions to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration construction and shipyard standards replace changes the Trump administration began pursing in 2017, and then backed away from in September (RIN:1218-AD21).
