Bankrupt Refinery PES Asks Court to Overrule DOJ, EPA Objections

Refinery operator Philadelphia Energy Solutions asked a bankruptcy court in Delaware to overrule federal government objections to its reorganization plan, in an effort to avoid delaying the case that it says costs $15 million per month.

The refinery’s Dec. 8 filing came in response to a Nov. 27 objection from the U.S. Trustee’s Office, the Justice Department’s bankruptcy watchdog, that the company’s disclosures were “devoid of any meaningful information” about how much creditors would receive.
