Almost Half of Employers Didn’t Comply With Injury Reporting Rule

About half the 460,192 employers expected to file their 2017 workplace injury and illness summaries with federal safety regulators complied with the mandate, according to data Bloomberg Environment obtained through a Freedom of Information Act request.

The 54 percent response rate for the mandate’s second year comes as the Occupational Safety and Health Administration considers dropping more expansive reporting requirements that have yet to take effect.
