US Eyes Judicial Enforcement for Troubled Jackson Water System

The Biden administration is contemplating actions to “reach a judicially enforceable agreement” that safeguards the public water system in Jackson, Miss., EPA Administrator Michael Regan said Monday.

Regan said he and Todd Kim, who heads the Justice Department’s environment and natural resources division, met with Jackson Mayor Chokwe Antar Lumumba (D) to “discuss the actions the federal government is prepared to take.” He didn’t provide specifics on what those actions might include.
