Toyota, Plaintiffs Don’t Want Fuel Pump Suits Sent to Michigan

Toyota Motor North America Inc. and plaintiffs in four New York lawsuits are arguing against formally combining litigation alleging more than 1.8 million recalled Toyota vehicles have defective fuel pumps that can cause stalling or engine shutdown.

Plaintiffs in four other suits, all represented by Hagens Berman Sobol Shapiro LLP, last month sought to combine the eight would-be class suits in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, where fuel pump maker Denso Corp.'s North American headquarters is located.
