Taxotere Plaintiff’s Experts May Testify in Upcoming Test Trial

Sanofi-Aventis US LLC failed to convince a federal court to bar from testifying two plaintiff’s experts who say its breast cancer drug Taxotere can cause permanent hair loss.

Barbara Earnest may present testimony from statistician David Madigan and oncologist Ellen Feigal at her upcoming trial, the Eastern District of Louisiana said.

Earnest’s suit, set to begin trial Sept. 16, is slated to be the first trial of some 11,000 federal Taxotere suits in the federal multidistrict proceeding in Louisiana.

Plaintiffs allege Sanofi failed to warn that the breast cancer drug caused permanent hair loss.
