Six Flags Beats Appeal in Park Patron’s Waterslide Injury Suit

Six Flags America LP and the designers of a waterslide in Hurricane Harbor Water Park beat a patron’s appeal, as the Fourth Circuit affirmed that he failed to show negligence or that the slide caused his leg injuries.

Hicham Elkharroubi alleged his left knee and leg were seriously hurt in 2015 by a malfunctioning door on the Bowie, Md., park’s “Bonzai Pipelines” waterslide.

When the door opens, the rider drops down into the flume of the slide, which is approximately six stories tall and follows multiple turns before ending in a splash pool at the bottom of the ride. Elkharroubi ...
