Royal Caribbean Salmonella Case Survives Dismissal

The family of a teenager who died of salmonella poisoning on a Royal Caribbean cruise ship may pursue wrongful death and negligence claims against the company, the Southern District of Florida ruled Nov. 3 (Martins v. Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd., 2016 BL 368221, S.D. Fla., 15-cv-21124, 11/3/16).

The ruling rejected defense claims that the ship’s doctors and nurses weren’t employees or agents of Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd.
