Royal Caribbean Medevac Denial Suit Stays Afloat

Royal Caribbean Cruise Ltd. must face claims that its “Care Team” aboard Anthem of the Seas failed to immediately airlift a passenger who suffered a stroke, a federal court in Florida ruled April 23.

The ruling is the latest in a trend of negligence cases against major cruise lines for allegedly inadequate shipboard medical care and emergency evacuations.

Royal Caribbean assumed a duty of care to David Disler and his partner by assembling and touting the onboard team, whose services included air ambulances, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida said.
