Reynolds Units Challenge Los Angeles Ban on Flavored Tobacco (1)

Los Angeles County’s ban on flavored tobacco products should be struck down because it conflicts with federal law, three Reynolds American Inc. tobacco companies told a federal court in California.

The ordinance “bans any kind of flavored tobacco or nicotine product, whether natural or synthetic, including the sale of all menthol cigarettes,” R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co., American Snuff Co., and Santa Fe Natural Tobacco Co. say in a complaint filed Monday in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.
