NFL Relief Plan Near for Players Harmed by Race Norming (1)

The NFL, class counsel for former players, and intervening retired Black players expect to have “the essentials of an agreement” before the end of summer to provide relief to Black players harmed by the use of racial norms in assessing qualification for concussion benefits, a magistrate said in a Tuesday filing.

The agreement would also eliminate the use of race norms going forward, the magistrate told the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
