Gunmaker, Injured Man Settle Suit Over Alleged Rifle Defect

Sept. 27, 2022, 5:44 PM

Thompson/Center Arms Inc. and a man alleging he was injured by a defective rifle have settled his lawsuit ahead of a November trial, they told a federal judge in Utah.

Zane Stratton alleged he bought an Omega Muzzleloading Rifle, made by Thompson, from another gun owner and used it for several years without incident. Then on a hunting trip, he allegedly loaded it properly with black powder and a bullet. He says it exploded when he pulled the trigger, injuring his hands.
