Groups Drop Slaughterhouse Water Pollution Suit After EPA Action

The Environmental Protection Agency escaped a suit seeking to compel it to update the standards for slaughterhouse water pollution, after the 4th Circuit agreed to dismiss the claims because the agency updated its guidelines.

Cape Fear River Watch and other environmental groups challenged the EPA’s decision to not revise effluent limitation guidelines and to not issue pretreatment standards for meat and poultry products in the US Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.
