Plaintiffs presented adequate expert evidence on causation to sustain a $1 million verdict in an asbestos exposure suit against Ford Motor Co., a Pennsylvania appeals court ruled May 19 in an unpublished opinion (Rost v. Ford Motor Co., Pa. Super. Ct., 404 EDA 2012).
Richard Rost contracted mesothelioma, in part, as a result of exposure to dust particles from Ford-made brakes, he and his wife alleged at trial in 2011. The jury found Ford, General Electric, Westinghouse and Ingersoll Rand liable for Rost’s injuries, awarding the Rosts nearly $1 million.
