Ex-NYU Tisch Asia Students Say Class Fraud Suit Should Proceed

Former NYU students told a federal court unresolved questions preclude judgment for the university in a class suit alleging it deceptively touted its defunct Tisch Asia program as commensurate with that of its renowned Tisch School of the Arts in New York.

Tisch Asia, a performing-arts based graduate program in Singapore, opened in 2007 and closed in 2015.

Anna Basso, Amy Hartman, and Jaime Villa Ruiz alleged Tisch Asia students didn’t get the same education, professional training, and equipment as their New York counterparts. Only the tuition was the same, they alleged.
