Discovery of PFOS in Insecticides Added to EPA Probe of Products

A recently published study that found a well-known “forever chemical” in insecticides commonly used to treat cotton is to be added to the EPA’s ongoing investigation of PFAS contamination in pesticide products, the agency said Friday.

The Environmental Protection Agency replied to questions about its response to a scientific study that found perfluorooctanesulfonic acid (PFOS) in six out of 10 insecticide formulations tested.
