Beechcraft Wins Appeal in Fatal Jet Crash Case

Two survivors of a deadly jet crash failed to support personal injury claims against Beechcraft Corp. with expert witness testimony essential to their case, a federal appeals court in Denver ruled.

Beechcraft and its airplane maintenance contractor were properly granted summary judgment because testimony by four expert witnesses offered by James Rodgers and Christopher Evans was partly or completely unreliable, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit said Dec. 13.

Expert evidence was required to support alleged design and manufacturing defects in the Beechcraft Premier 390 aircraft, and here Rodgers and Evans “either have no expert to testify...
