Apple Gets Two-Factor Authentication Suit Tossed Again

Renewed allegations that Apple Inc.'s two-factor authentication login tool violated consumers’ privacy and property rights suffer from the same deficiencies as the original claims, and so the suit must be dismissed, a federal court in California ruled.

Jay Brosky and three other Apple product users alleged that a software update installed 2FA for their Apple ID without their knowledge or consent, slowing down their login procedures and even locking them out for periods of time when they didn’t have access to their “trusted devices,” which received the authentication code. They sued Apple on behalf of a proposed nationwide class.
