Amazon Out of State Farm Litigation Over Battery Fire, For Now

Amazon.com Inc. may exit a lawsuit over a house fire blamed on a battery pack because State Farm General Insurance Co. didn’t adequately state its strict liability or negligence claims, a federal court in California ruled.

The property insurer will have another chance to plead its claims, Judge John A. Mendez of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California said. The order was docketed Wednesday.
