Alterra Faces Ski Pass Holders’ Class Suit Over Covid Closures

Alterra Mountain Co. and subsidiary Ikon Pass Inc. must face breach of contract claims by a proposed class of skiers who bought “unlimited access” passes for slopes throughout the U.S. and Canada but were unable to ski after the slopes closed as a result of the Covid-19 outbreak.

The complaint alleges Alterra refused to issue refunds to hundreds of thousands of pass holders, which “amounts to tens of millions (or more) in unjust profits.”
