Air and Cruise Lines Deceptively Promote Trip Insurance, More Suits Say

United Airlines, Royal Caribbean Cruises, and Carnival Corp. are just some of the major air and cruise companies that deceptively promote trip cancellation insurance to online ticket buyers, according to a slew of new class complaints.

Similar suits, which allege some travelers paid hundreds of dollars for such policies, also have been filed against Norwegian Cruise Lines, and against Delta Air Lines and Jet Blue Airlines.

The travel companies aggressively promote travel protection products on their websites, but don’t disclose that they get a portion of the payment from each sale, the suits allege.
