3M Co. sold the U.S. military defective earplugs that didn’t adequately protect combat soldiers’ hearing, several Army veterans allege in newly filed suits.
A Jan. 25 complaint is the latest of a wave of product liability litigation linking the earplugs to military members’ hearing loss.
And this isn’t the first time 3M has been sued over its protective devices, with a big award handed down last year over allegedly faulty respirators.
A whistlelower suit over the earplugs also resulted in a multimillion dollar settlement.
