Solarisbank Is Latest German Fintech Unicorn in Funding Round

Solarisbank AG has become the latest fintech company valued at more than $1 billion in Germany as start-ups continue to attract investor money.

The Berlin-based provider of white-label banking services raised 190 million euros in its latest founding round, putting the valuation assigned to it by investors at 1.4 billion euros ($1.7 billion), it said in a press release on Monday. The firm simultaneously announced the acquisition of U.K.-based fintech Contis.
