Bennett Goodman joked upon retiring from Blackstone Group Inc. that he wouldn’t be “sipping piña coladas out of coconuts on some beach.” Ten months later, he’s back, leading a new firm that plans to buy stakes in private-equity partnerships.

Goodman’s firm is called Hunter Point Capital and based in New York, according to documents provided to Bloomberg.
