Sweden’s data regulator is looking to investigate Zurich-based ABB, following a complaint that the international robotics company violated the personal data of job seekers.
Before it can launch a full investigation, the DPA must establish it has the authority to do so under the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation. ABB is partly Swedish-owned but is headquartered in Zurich.
The DPA is asking ABB preliminary questions, including where the data of job seekers is processed, and where the decision was made to gather the data in the manner described.
