Small Businesses Set to Weigh in on Congressional Privacy Debate

Small business and tech policy representatives are expected to tell a Senate Commerce subcommittee March 26 that European Union and U.S. state privacy laws put them at a disadvantage in competing for business against big corporations.

The National Association of Realtors, the KC Tech Council, a Kansas City, Mo.-based tech policy group, and a former Federal Trade Commission policy director are set to testify before the Senate Commerce Manufacturing, Trade, and Consumer Protection Subcommittee. The witnesses will discuss challenges small businesses may face “with laws designed for larger companies,” according to the hearing announcement.
