Nike Wants ‘Wiretapping’ Claims Over Website User Data Tossed

Nike Inc. has asked a federal judge in Los Angeles to dismiss proposed class claims that its website analytics system unlawfully “wiretap” visitors in violation of California privacy laws.

Burhaan Saleh alleges that Nike and FullStory Inc., a website service vendor, recorded his activities on Nike’s website when he purchased a pair of shoes in May without his permission and in violation of the California Information Privacy Act’s criminal prohibitions on eavesdropping on internet and wire communications.
