Meta: Content Restrictions Due to Local Laws up 75% vs 2H 2021

Meta says in its 1H 2022 transparency report that global government requests for user data increased 10.5% in the first six months of this year.

  • Received 15.6% more requests in this US than in 2H 2021
  • Of the total volume of global government requests, the US continues to submit the most, followed by India, Germany, Brazil, France and the UK
  • Content restrictions based on local law increased globally 75% from 2H 2021
