Israel Lets Spy Agency Track Virus Carriers’ Calls, Report Says

Israel is allowing its domestic intelligence agency to examine the mobile phone call logs of coronavirus carriers, the Calcalist website reported, citing a question asked in a parliamentary committee on Thursday.

Gabi Ashkenazi, chairman of the interim Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, asked why the agency, known as the Shin Bet, had been permitted to check not only on the location of coronavirus carriers, but also whom they spoke to by phone in the 14 days prior to testing positive, according to the report.
