Canada Going to Court Over Facebook’s Privacy Practices (1)

Canadian regulators are taking Facebook Inc. to court to seek an order forcing the company to fix its privacy practices after alleged violations of Canadian privacy laws.

The social media giant had ineffective safeguards that allowed third party apps unauthorized access to Facebook users’ information, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada and the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia said in an April 25 joint statement detailing investigative findings.
