Groups Press Court on Privacy of Los Angeles Scooter Rider Data (1)

Privacy and civil rights groups are urging a federal appeals court to take up a lawsuit claiming that Los Angeles invades the privacy of electric scooter riders by collecting data on their trips.

A lower court shouldn’t have dismissed the lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of scooter data collection under the Fourth Amendment’s privacy protections, the groups said in a July 23 filing in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
